Antivirus Protection is a rogue security software which is usually installed without users knowledge or consent. It is just another scam that uses misleading methods in order to scare you into purchasing this software. Adware.Component.Toolbars

Adware.Component.Toolbars is a false security threat generated by the rogue anti-spyware program Smart Defender PRO. Once your computer is infected, this false threat will be displayed mostly in bogus security alerts. It might be listed in fake scan results too. Adware.Component.Toolbars alert reads:

“INFILTRATION ALERT. Your computer is being attacked from Internet. It could be a password-stealing attack, a trojan-dropper and so on. DETAILS: Attack from 119.226.114.205; Attacked port: 21373; Threat: Adware.Component.Toolbars. Do you want this program to block this attack?”

It is obvious that this infection should be removed upon detection, otherwise SecurityCentral may cause even more damage. Remember, do not purchase this program!

Usually, Security Central is advertised through the use of trojans, fake online anti-malware scanners and other malicious software. Most of the time, Trojans display legitimate looking pop-ups or security alerts similar to Windows Security Center warnings. Contraviro is a bogus anti-spyware program that uses false security alerts and scan results in order to convince you that your computer is seriously infected with spyware, adware and Trojans. Presumptively, the rogue was created by the same group of people who have released Unvirex – also rogue spyware remover. As usual, these types of programs are advertised through the use of Trojans and fake online scanners. Of course, Contraviro can be downloaded and installed manually from its website, but this is less common situation.

Once installed, this parasite will supposedly scan your computer and display a list of files that are likely infected and must be removed. These files, though, are legitimate programs and shouldn’t be removed, otherwise it would cause Windows to not operate properly. What is more, you must to purchase Contraviro in order to remove these supposed infections. Obviously, it is recommended not to do so, because Contraviro is a scam, totally useless application. You will only waste your money.

While running, Contraviro will install a DLL file called Layered Service Provider (LSP) on to your computer. It is used mainly to monitor network traffic and detect certain information. WinBlueSoft is another rogue anti-spyware application. Basically, it is just a rename of WiniBlueSoft. This rogue is similar to many of the other fake security programs. It is advertised through the use of Trojans that constantly display fake security alerts stating that your computer is seriously infected and that you should download and install WinBlue Soft in order to clean your PC. These alerts, though, are are all fake and should be ignored. What is more, the rogue creates a file called blocker.dll. This file makes the situation even more complicated, because it doesn’t allow you to launch your normal programs and processes, except iexplore.exe, explorer.exe, sidebar.exe, WinBlueSoft.exe and several others.
