Podmena is yet another dangerous Trojan virus. Unlike other viruses, Trojans do not self-replicate, they are spread manually. Most of the time, inexperienced users manually execute unknown programs and infect their computers. Podmena is not an exception. This parasite might be advertised as a video codec or a useful and beneficial program. Usually, it is distributed via email, malicious websites, peer-to-peer networks, etc.
When installed, Podmena will create various malicious files on your computer, including podmena.dll , podmena.sys and others. It registers podmena.sys as a service and uses podmena.dll to inject threads into svchost.exe. Podmena will also modify registry entries. This virus is a significant security threat.
